LIFELONG LEARNING COURSE

Aging Mastery
$10 supply fee for class materials; seven-week session course Live your best life at 60, 70, 80, 90 and beyond! It's never too late to take small steps to improve your health and plan for your future. This evidence-based program is a series of classes perfect for those approaching retirement or those that want to build a plan for aging well. Create actionable goals, develop healthier habits and discover how to stay socially engaged. Presented by Lisa Howard, Legacy Link.

Membership Opportunities

Check out the NEW benefits of membership with Forsyth County Senior Services! Annual Membership includes access to both of our locations, each providing unique programming.

Annual Membership is $60 for individuals, $40 for each additional household member. That breaks down to only $5 a month or less for tons of fun! 

Milestone Membership is free for Forsyth County residents age 85 and better, $30 per year for non-residents.

Where are your centers located?

Sexton Hall – 2115 Chloe Road, Cumming - Southernmost location off Sharon Road.    Special events, lifelong learning classes, fitness, art and a community garden

Charles Place –595 Dahlonega Hwy, Cumming –Central location near the downtown Cumming Library - Active adult programs including art, fitness and social groups.  Congregate meal program and services for needier older adults

Can I donate items to the Centers?

Yes! We accept all kinds of items for the homebound and for center programming. We do not accept books, used clothing, or non-packaged food items. You may call to discuss your donation at 770-781-2178 option 1 or, email SeniorServices@forsythco.com.

Do I have to be a member to participate in the programing?

Membership is encouraged with a wide variety of benefits.  Member perks include free fitness and art classes, early registration for trips and hikes, and access to card games and social groups.  Annual Membership is $60 for individuals and $40 for each additional member of your household.  Programming is available for non-members for additional fees.  

Can I bring my friend with me to your events?

Pre-Registration is encouraged for events and required when there are fees. However, many activities allow for drop ins. Please call the front desk at (770) 781-2178 to find out more about the specific event and to make sure that space will allow for guests.

How can I find out more about what you offer?

Please check our Newsletter – available on-line and in hard copy in our centers. You can also sign up for the weekly email announcement to stay up to date with the latest news!

How can I volunteer with Senior Services?

Yes! We have a wide variety of opportunities available. They include Meals on Wheels drivers, class presenters, entertainers, classroom aides (art, memory support, etc.), and event helpers. Can I reserve one of your locations for events?

Yes! We have a wide variety of options availablerentals are available Monday through Friday 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
