Fire Safety & Public Education The Fire Safety and Public Education division operates within the Fire Marshal's Office. Fire is one of the greatest hazards that exist to life and property. Our mission is to promote fire prevention and safety for all Forsyth County citizens. In order to do this, we have developed several programs that will enable us to assist in saving life and property. Along with the basic fire safety programs, we have our “Fire Safety House”. With this house we teach children what to do in case there is a fire in their home. The division also offers free smoke detectors and installation to our senior citizens and lower income families. Our staff is also ready and willing to assist any member of the community by checking their smoke detectors and addressing any concerns. Other programs include: - Church fire prevention and arson awareness - Pre-school fire safety - Juvenile fire setters program - Fire station tours - Fire safety for senior citizens - Fire extinguisher training We are also available to speak at homeowners association meetings and other groups about the importance of fire prevention and safety.
