Board of Commissioners Proclaims November 2024 as Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

At a regular meeting on Nov. 21, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners proclaimed the month of November 2024 as Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.

According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 66,440 people in the United States will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2024.

To help the public understand its effects on Forsyth County, the Board encourages residents to learn more about the disease, participate in events promoting the fight against pancreatic cancer, and support those who are affected by it.

Representatives from nonprofit Purple Pansies, including founder Maria Fundora, were in attendance to accept the proclamation.
