Forsyth County to Utilize Appointment System for In-Person Customer Interactions
The Forsyth County Administration Building (110 E. Main Street) will open to residents, on an appointment and digital waitlist basis, beginning June 1. To enhance the customer service experience with residents while promoting social distancing, Forsyth County will be utilizing WaitWhile, a free appointment and waitlist system. Residents can access the system here: forsythco.com/appointments.

This system will allow residents to make an appointment or join a waitlist for those activities that require face-to-face interaction. If the waitlist is selected, residents will be able to view their location on the waitlist and be informed via text message and/or email when it is their turn to enter the building to complete their interaction with County staff.

Many county services are available online and residents are encouraged to continue to use this option. The County recently launched a Customer Self Service Portal that allows applications to be submitted online for building permits, business and alcohol licenses, inspections and land development plans. Water bills can also be paid online.

“The new appointment system will allow us to provide in-person services with County staff, while maintaining an appropriate number of people in the various buildings,” said Forsyth County Manager Eric Johnson. “We still highly encourage residents to complete transactions online but understand the need for in-person interactions. This tool enables us to safely allow residents to enter facilities for various transactions as needed.”

The following departments will be utilizing the appointment and waitlist system:

- Tax Assessor
- Water Department
- Engineering
- Planning and Community Development
- Business License
- Building and Economic Development
