Foster Forsyth is Underway: Join the Dialogue about Forsyth County’s Future this April
Foster Forsyth, the process of updating the Forsyth County Comprehensive Plan, is underway and community members are invited to participate in the first set of public input sessions this April to shape the plan update. Five Visioning Workshops will be held between April 18 and April 27. These workshops will incorporate the same agenda but will be offered on varying days at different times and locations to accommodate the community. Residents, businesses, property owners and community groups are encouraged to participate and help create Forsyth County’s future.
VISIONING WORKSHOPS
What is Forsyth County like today? What will it be like in 20 years? Work together with fellow community members to shape our long-term vision and goals.
- Monday, April 18, 6 to 8 p.m.: Central Park Recreation Center, Banquet Room
- Wednesday, April 20, 7 to 9 p.m.: Fowler Park Recreation Center, Community Room
- Saturday, April 23, 10 a.m. to noon: Lambert High School, Auditorium
- Monday, April 25, 7 to 9 p.m.: Hampton Park Library, Meeting Room
- Wednesday, April 27, 6 to 8 p.m.: West Forsyth High School, Cafeteria
The Visioning Workshops will be educational as well as interactive. Community members will:
- Learn about recent county trends in demographics, housing, economic development and land use as well as related possible needs and opportunities.
- Engage in facilitated discussions and activities about the county’s future direction and top goals, particularly as they relate to future growth and public initiatives.
The Visioning Workshops follow the official kick-off of the Comprehensive Plan Update process that occurred during two public hearings on March 17 and April 7 before the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners. The Visioning Workshops are the first set of public input sessions that will help collect feedback and inform community members about the update to Forsyth County’s Comprehensive Plan.
The update process provides an opportunity for the community as a whole to pause and have a meaningful dialogue about its vision for housing, quality of life and employment opportunities, along with the policies and programs that will support plan implementation.
The Comprehensive Plan Update process is being conducted by Jacobs in collaboration with Kimley-Horn. For more information, please visit www.fosterforsyth.com or contact Audra Rojeck, a member of the Jacobs consultant team, at (404) 978-7569 or audra.rojek@jacobs.com.
