Transportation Funding, Projects Highlighted at 2024 Transportation Summit

The Forsyth County Transportation Summit was held on Wednesday, Oct. 23, giving residents, stakeholders and business leaders the opportunity to hear directly from leaders and decision makers about the future of transportation in Forsyth County.

Photos from the event can be found here.

The event featured a presentation on current and future County transportation projects as well as a panel conversation with local, regional and State transportation leaders on funding source options for the future.

"Whether you’re on one of metro-Atlanta’s most traveled state routes, along our County-maintained roads or one of the many mixed-use trails connected to our schools, shopping and neighborhoods – it is our mission that your commute is the last thing you are thinking about while you travel," said County Manager David McKee in the presentation.

The Summit, jointly hosted by the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of South Forsyth, featured a panel discussion with State and local leaders on the future of transportation in Forsyth County, including:

  • David McKee, Forsyth County Manager
  • Sen. Greg Dolezal, Georgia State Senator, District 27
  • Jason Dykes, Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) District Engineer
  • Jan Rooney, First Chair-Elect, Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce
  • James McCoy, President/CEO, Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce
