Review of prior minutes
Motion was made by Matthew Blender to approve the minutes of June 11, 2012, seconded by Donald Glover. Vote to approve the minutes of June 11, 2012 was unanimous with Douglas Sorrells being absent from the meeting due to vacation.

L & A will begin tomorrow. We have 6 poll workers coming in to assist in testing the equipment.
The supplies are being packed. Training is complete with the exception of some make up. Betsy and Mandi did a wonderful job planning and executing the training. Donald wanted it to be put on the record regarding the training that the feedback that he received from attendees of the meeting and attending the meeting was all good. Betsy worked through pain as she had twisted her ankle. The backup that is in place, allowed Mandi to step up to do Betsy’s part and Barb to fill in for Mandi. The office is a well oiled machine.

After review of the above list Matt Blender made a motion to remove the 44 names on the deceased voter List from the voter registration rolls. The motion was seconded by Donald Glover and the vote was unanimous with the members present to remove the 44 names from the voter registration rolls.

After review of the Street Hearing List and some discussion about the addresses and back up documentation Matt Blender made a motion to remove the 7 names that were on the Street Hearing List from the voter registration rolls. The motion was seconded by Donald Glover and the vote was unanimous with the members present to remove the 7 names listed above from the voter registration list.
Early Opening and Tabulation of Absentee Ballots
According to code section O.C.G.A §21-2-386 we are allowed to open absentee ballots starting at 7:00am on Election Day. We have always been able to open the outer envelope, but with the change in the law we can now open the outer and inner envelopes and read the ballots through the tabulators. We must publish a notice that we intend to open the ballots early and notify the parties and the Nonpartisan candidates of the time we will be starting. We would start opening the ballots at 4:00pm on Election Day. Each party can have 2 monitors and each Nonpartisan candidate can have 1 monitor. The review panel would be present along with office staff. All monitors, vote review panel and any other persons helping that are not board members of election staff must be sequester for the entire process. They cannot have their cell phones or any other electronic devices. There was discussion on procedures and if we would have a deputy present for security. We would have a sign in sheet with times that each person arrives. This would be done in the commissioner meeting room. We would open the ballot, read them through and at 7:00pm we would run the ender card through the units to print the tapes and get the final numbers.
Supervisor’s Report
We have 112,184 registered voters and we continue to grow.
The new lektriever will be delivered July 9th. We may hold off loading the cards into the lektriever until after the August runoff.
Donald made a motion to adjourn the meeting and was seconded by Matt. The vote was unanimous with the members present to adjourn the meeting at 9:34 am.
