GDOT Announces Portion of Bald Ridge Road to be Closed Beginning May 29
May 24, 2012: The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced approximately 1,000 feet of Bald Ridge Road from the intersection with State Route (SR) 9 in Cumming will close to traffic beginning at approximately 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, as this section of Bald Ridge Road is rebuilt. The detour will be in place through the end of the year weather permitting.
“The detour was necessary because of the grade changes and shifting of Bald Ridge to align with Mary Alice Park in the finished intersection,” said Georgia Department of Transportation District Engineer Bayne Smith. “This 1,000 feet long section of Bald Ridge is expected to remain closed until December 31, 2012.”
The signed detour route will direct traffic from Bald Ridge Road to Hill Street to south Hill Street to Allen Street to SR 9/SR 20 and back to the intersection.
The expected completion date of this project is June 30, 2013.
