GDOT Announces Maintenance Activities

July 13, 2012: The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) announces routine maintenance activities planned for next week in Barrow, Dawson, Forsyth, Gwinnett and Hall counties.

Most activities will only require shoulder or median lane closures. An intermittent single lane closure and/or flagman will be utilized for asphalt patching. This is a tentative schedule; if emergency response is needed at a crash scene or if emergency repairs are necessary this schedule will change. 

WHEN:            Daily Monday, July 16 through Friday, July 20 with work hours for mowing of 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. if weather permits.

WHAT and WHERE:      Barrow

·         Mowing on SR 211

·         Drainage system repairs on SR 8

Gwinnett

·         Vegetation maintenance on SR 316, I-85 and I-985

·         Sweeping on SR 124 and SR 141

·         Mowing on I-85

Dawson

·         Vegetation maintenance on SR 136

     Forsyth

·         Shoulder repairs on SR 9 and SR 371

·         Drainage ditch repairs on SR 52

Hall

·         Mowing on SR 211

·         Drainage ditch repairs on SR 52

·         Guardrail repairs on SR 53, SR 332, SR 323 and SR 60

Motorists should reduce their speed in these and all work zones.
