Mendy Moore - District 4

Commissioner Mendy Moore was elected in 2024 to serve as the District 4 commissioner for the 2025-2028 term.

Commissioner Moore is a graduate of Louisiana State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. During her 30+ year career in accounting and finance, she has worked for Fortune 500 companies, small businesses and non-profits. Commissioner Moore has spent the last six years as the CFO of a Forsyth County business. Analysis of financial results and identifying opportunities for improved efficiency are some of the areas she is especially skilled in.

Mendy has been a leader in Forsyth County, serving in church, schools and non-profits. Among her many service accomplishments are starting a ministry for teenage moms in 2010 and serving as PTO treasurer and fundraising coordinator. Since 2021, Mendy served on the Forsyth County Republican Party board, first as Secretary and then as Chairman, before resigning to run for commissioner of District 4.

Originally from Louisiana, Commissioner Moore and her husband, John, have lived in Georgia since 1997 and in Forsyth County since 2000.They have four children and three granddaughters, all of whom attend, will attend, or have graduated from Forsyth County public schools. Their daughter Lindsay is married to Josh Freeman, and they have three daughters, Haddie, Presley and Emmie. Twins Marshall and Colton are currently pursuing Aviation at Middle Georgia State University. The Moores’ youngest son, Landon, is a student at Alliance Academy of Innovation.

Mendy and her family have enjoyed camping and boating on Lake Lanier for many years, eventually calling the lake home in 2014. She can often be found working in her yard or sitting around a bonfire on a beautiful evening.
