Environmental Compliance
The Recycling & Solid Waste Department ensures that solid waste handling facilities, landfills and other similar facilities within the county comply with pertinent environmental rules and regulations that the county has the authority to enforce.
The landfills in Forsyth County that are monitored include Eagle Point Landfill, Greenleaf Landfill and Hightower Landfill (closed). For information on these facilities and the materials they accept, click here
For the Eagle Point Landfill, the Department utilizes a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Advanced Disposal Services, Inc. The MOU can be found in the Eagle Point download files below.
Filing a Complaint
All landfill complaints should be directed to Forsyth County Code Compliance. Complaints can be filed by phone or online. Information on how to file a complaint can be found here.
Please be sure to fully complete the form. We are unable to investigate complaints if we do not have an address, name and telephone number and/or email address to reply to the person filing the complaint. Also, providing the date and time of the experience will help us be able to provide a faster, more thorough investigation.
