Septic Tank Pump-Out Program

Forsyth County Department of Water and Sewer offers a Septic Tank Pump-Out Program to help protect water quality in Lake Lanier and throughout the county.  To provide a financial incentive for residents to pump out their septic tanks at a more regular interval, eligible participants can receive a $100.00 rebate credit towards their water bill for the pumping out of their septic tank.

Program Details 

Eligibility Requirements:

1. You must be a water customer of the Forsyth County Department of Water and Sewer whose residence currently uses a septic system for wastewater disposal. You must also be the property owner of the residence.  Note:  If you are on a well or get water service from any other provider than the Forsyth County Department of Water and Sewer, you are NOT eligible. 

2. Your account must be current and up to date on all billing obligations.

3. Septic system must be at least 36 months old to qualify and eligibility is once every 5 years per address.

4. Rebate applications must be received within 90 days of the completion of the pumping service.

Instructions:

1. Select a certified/licensed septic tank pumping company as approved by the Georgia Department of Health to perform the septic tank pump out. (Click here for list of GA Department of Health approved septic tank pumpers).

2. Complete the Rebate Application. Be sure to attach a copy of both the paid pump out service invoice (clearly showing date and service address) and a copy of your recent water bill.

3. Submit the online application.

Additional Notes:

1. Rebate processing may take up to 90 days and will show as a credit on water bill.

2. Processing will be delayed if required information is missing or incorrect.

3. Rebate is $100.00 per pump out.

4. Rebate is subject to funding availability and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

5. Any additional service costs are not eligible for a rebate, such as equipment, parts, upgrades, etc.
