Bike Skills Park Set to Open at Haw Creek Park October 27
New skills park for youth riders to be unveiledduring Haw Creek Bike Fest event
Forsyth County Parks& Recreation will be opening a bike skills park at Haw Creek Park (2205Echols Road) on Saturday, Oct. 27 as part of the Haw Creek Bike Fest. The eventwill be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include bike skills clinics, prizes,local bike vendors and free food.
The bike skills park isan area designed specifically for riders between the ages of 3-11 and featuresa pump track, tot track and technical trail features that are found on mostmountain biking trails. Families are invited to bring their bikes to enjoy theskills park and existing trails.
“We look forward tooffering this unique amenity at Haw Creek Park,” said Parks & RecreationDirector Jim Pryor. “It will provide a fun and safe place for children toimprove their biking skills.”
The bike skills park wasfunded by SPLOST VII funds as well as a donation from the Forsyth County ParksFoundation made in honor of Daniel Brunick. During the Haw Creek Bike Fest, theForsyth County Parks Foundation will be unveiling a plaque in memory of Mr.Brunick.
“This is a great exampleof how the parks foundation can support park projects as well as help familiesleave a legacy in the community,” said President of the Forsyth County ParksFoundation Kristin Morrissey. “We look forward to being at the event to sharein the fun.”
