Board of Commissioners Congratulates Winners of Fire Department’s 2024 Safety Poster Contest
The Board of Commissioners recognized the winners of the Fire Department’s annual Safety Poster Contest in a June 6 meeting.
The annual Safety Poster Contest invites third grade students in Forsyth County to submit original posters that illustrate one of three safety topics. This year’s topics included Smoke Alarms, Pedestrian Safety and Two Ways Out.
With over 100 posters submitted, winning posters were selected based on clarity of message and design, originality, artistic quality and relevance to the chosen safety topic.
This year’s winners were:
- Aishini Kamineni from Johns Creek Elementary –Winner of the Smoke Alarms category.
- Luci Sanderson from Haw Creek Elementary- Runner-up of the Smoke Alarms category.
- Sarika Dua from Johns Creek Elementary– Winner of the Pedestrian Safety category.
- Ryan Lee from Johns Creek Elementary – Runner-up of the Pedestrian Safety category.
- David Kleyn from Mashburn Elementary– Winner of the Two Ways Out category.
- Chloe Lin from Pinecrest Academy– Runner-up of the Two Ways Out category.
The Board congratulates the winners on the excellence to which they used their creativity to help educate their peers and the community at large about the importance of safety.
