Board of Commissioners Proclaims Childhood Cancer Awareness Week
The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners proclaimed Sept. 25-29, 2023, as Childhood Cancer Awareness Week at a Sept. 21 meeting.
According to the American Childhood Cancer Organization, each year an estimated 15,780 children aged 0-19 in the United States are diagnosed with cancer, with more than 300,000 children diagnosed each year worldwide.
The Board urges all residents to learn about this disease, participate in events promoting the fight against cancer, and support those who are affected by it.
