Board of Commissioners Proclaims Nov. 20 as GIS Day
The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners proclaimed Nov. 20, 2024, as GIS Day in Forsyth County at a regular meeting on Nov. 7.
The Forsyth County Department of Geographic Information Services (GIS) will also be hosting two public information sessions on Thursday, Nov. 14, to celebrate GIS Day. Residents can attend for free to learn more about the services the department offers. Learn more.
GIS provides the physical location and regional context for County services, acting as a tool for effective decision making at all levels of government.
The Board encourages residents to become aware of the important contributions GIS makes to the fields of science and technology during GIS Day.
