Board of Commissioners Proclaims November as Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month
To recognize and raise awareness of how pancreatic cancer affects people in our community, the Board proclaimed the month of November 2023 as Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
The Board recognized a local organization, Purple Pansies, founded by Maria Fundora, for its work to aid pancreatic cancer research, as well as former Commissioner Molly Cooper who fought pancreatic cancer during most of her term as commissioner and always served with professionalism, integrity, humility and compassion.
