Board of Commissioners Recognize Kevin Tanner for Service as County Manager
During their Dec. 1 regular meeting, the Board of Commissioners recognized Kevin Tanner for his service as County Manager following the announcement of his departure.
Tanner began his service as County Manager in January 2021. During his tenure as County Manager, the County achieved the highest bond ratings from all major rating agencies, secured approval for water intake on Lake Lanier, received state and national recognitions for various departments, had a stretch of 400 recognized by the State as the Technology Corridor of Georgia, finalized an update to the Comprehensive Plan and many more milestones and achievements of note.
Prior to joining Forsyth County, Kevin Tanner served five years as Dawson County manager, and he was a four-term State Representative for District 9, which includes Lumpkin, Dawson and Forsyth counties.
Tanner recently accepted a position with Gov. Brian Kemp as the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Commissioner.
