Board of Commissioners Recognizes Anna Lyle for Service as Forsyth County Public Library Director

Following her retirement, former Forsyth County Public Library Director Anna Lyle was recognized at the Board of Commissioners Feb. 6 meeting for all her accomplishments in her 25-year career with the Forsyth County Public Library (FCPL).

Lyle started her career with FCPL in 1999, serving for 16 years in human resources and finance management. She was appointed director in 2015.

Lyle was also recently named Georgia Public Library Service's 2024 Director of the Year due to her collaborative spirit and commitment to supporting the Forsyth County community through expanding library programs and strengthening a network of partners to enhance FCPL’s reach.

Through her tenure, Lyle led FCPL through growth, as she was key in the expansion and renovation of the Sharon Forks Library, the design and construction of the forthcoming Denmark Library, creating a digital archive of the Forsyth County News from 1916 to 2019, the introduction of a robust World Languages collection, and the design and launch of Forsyth County’s Bookmobile, one of the first modern mobile libraries in the state.

Lyle was also a founding board member and mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters – Forsyth County in 2002, which is now called Mentor Me North Georgia. She has held positions with the Forsyth County Arts Alliance, the Rotary Club of Lanier Forsyth, the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce, and she participated in the 2002 Leadership Forsyth class.

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners wishes Lyle well in her future endeavors and thanks her for her service to the Forsyth County community.
