Brandon Kenney Named Finalist for Georgia Chief Information Officer of the Year
Forsyth County’s CIO tabbed as one offive finalists for award
Forsyth County ChiefInformation Officer Brandon Kenney has been named a finalist for the GeorgiaCIO of the Year Award in the Nonprofit/Public Sector category. This is thesecond time Kenney has been nominated.
“The recognition for Brandonis truly well deserved,” said Forsyth County Manager Eric Johnson. “Brandon’sleadership and knowledge has led to improvements in the way the county utilizestechnology, making Forsyth County a leader in information technology for other organizationsto follow.”
The Georgia CIOLeadership Association’s CIO of the Year Award is given annually to recognize technologyexecutives for their leadership, innovation and excellence. Finalists andwinners are selected by an independent peer review process. Criteria for theaward’s finalists includes leadership and management effectiveness, businessvalue created by technology innovation, the size and scope of responsibilitiesas well as engagement in industry and community endeavors.
“This nomination is areflection of the hard-working staff that strives to make the county a leaderin technological innovation,” said Kenney.
Kenney has served asForsyth County CIO since 2016. Prior to his current role, Kenney served as CIOfor Herschend Family Entertainment as well as Interim CIO at Saab Cars NorthAmerica.
The 2019 Georgia CIO ofthe Year Awards will be presented on Nov. 8, 2019 at the Cobb Galleria Centre.
