Forsyth County Closing Recreation Centers and Senior Services Facilities Through March 29
Forsyth County closely monitoring ongoing COVID-19 pandemic
In response tothe COVID-19 pandemic, Forsyth County has announced various closures,cancellations and postponements. Senior Centers and Recreation Centers will beclosed beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 13. These facilities are planned toreopen on Monday, March 30.
The following public events have been cancelled or postponed.
Parks and Recreation Activities: Athleticcomplexes are closed, and all games are cancelled or postponed.
Public Information Open Houses: MattCommunity Park, March 16 & 17 – postponed
Sawnee Mountain Preserve, March 26 –postponed
Keep Forsyth County Beautiful: GreatFoCo Cleanup, March 21 – postponed
Senior Services: Senior Expo, April 18 – postponed
“Forsyth County is committed to maintaining a safe and healthycommunity,” said Forsyth County Board of Commissioners Chairman Laura Semanson.
“After careful consideration, we have made the decision to close thesefacilities as well as postpone or cancel specific public events with thewell-being of our residents in mind. We encourage residents to follow CDCguidelines to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.”
