Forsyth County Expedites Transportation Projects, Featured in ACCG Magazine
The Spring 2023 edition of the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) magazine features Forsyth County as an example of successfully expediting large-scale transportation projects.
Recent state legislation has allowed county governments to take control of the transportation project delivery process from design to completion. For Forsyth County, alleviating congestion and streamlining major construction projects are priorities in the rapidly growing area. The legislation is already putting large capital projects ahead of schedule, including the widening of Old Atlanta Rd.
"Having the ability to not only expedite the process for our larger projects but also be able to more quickly respond to hurdles that arise throughout the build with one voice guiding all of the partners involved will be an absolute game changer for the counties that can take advantage of this approach that has not been available in the past," said Forsyth County Manager David McKee in the article.
