Forsyth County Parks & Recreation Offering Displaced Florida Residents Campground Discount

Ahead of the expected impact of Hurricane Milton, displaced Florida residents can receive a 50 percent discount for the first seven days of their stay at Bald Ridge Creek and Sawnee campgrounds, as approved by the Board of Commissioners at an Oct. 8 work session.

Bald Ridge Creek Campground (4100 Bald Ridge Park Road) offers tent and RV sites (50 amp) with water. Sawnee Campground (3200 Buford Dam Road) offers tent and RV sites (20/30/50 amp) with water.

To receive the discounted rate, Florida residents must reserve a booking at one of the two available campgrounds at a regular rate. Upon arrival to the campground, Florida residents must have proof of residency in the form of a Florida driver’s license or vehicle tag. Florida residents will then be offered a 50 percent reimbursement.

Should a longer stay be necessary, Florida residents need an additional booking at a regular rate.

Bookings are available on a first come, first served basis. The discounted rate will be available through the month of October.

Bookings can be reserved online for Bald Ridge Campground and Sawnee Campground.
