The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners has proclaimed May 16-22, 2021, as National Public Works Week in Forsyth County to recognize public works departments as essential for the health and well-being of residents.

Forsyth County public works departments include Engineering, Roads and Bridges, Stormwater, Water and Sewer, Recycling and Solid Waste, Fleet Maintenance and Public Facilities. Throughout the week, Forsyth County will highlight various public works departments through its social media channels including Facebook and Twitter.

About National Public Works Week: The theme for the 61st annual National Public Works Week, sponsored by the American Public Works Association (APWA), is Stronger Together. Since 1960, APWA has sponsored National Public Works Week. Across North America, more than 30,000 members in the U.S. and Canada use the week to energize and educate the public on the importance of public works to their daily lives: planning, building, managing and operating at the heart of their local communities to improve everyday quality of life.
