Forsyth County Reports Sewage Spill to Georgia EPD
In accordance with Environmental Protection Division (EPD) regulations, this is notice that on Saturday, June 17, 2023, a sewer spill was reported to Forsyth County Water & Sewer at 5:45 p.m. that occurred in the Three Chimneys Farm subdivision.
Crews found a blockage in the downstream manhole of rags, grease and construction debris. The blockage was jetted and removed. The spill was contained at 9:10 p.m. and occurred near an unnamed tributary of James Creek in the Three Chimneys Farm community between Homestead Ridge Drive and Three Chimneys Lane. It is estimated that approximately 4,100 gallons of sewage spilled into the unnamed tributary.
The ground effected by the spill has been cleaned and Forsyth County is taking all necessary precautions along with complying with EPD guidelines. The Georgia EPD was notified of the incident.
