Forsyth County Seeking Feedback on Proposed Precinct and Polling Place Changes
The Forsyth County Board of Voter Registrations & Elections (BRE) is seeking resident feedback on proposed precinct and polling place changes. If approved, the changes will be effective starting with the 2024 election cycle.
The proposed changes call for the removal of two current polling places and would add three new locations, increasing the number of polling places to 29. Proposed changes include:
- Concord Baptist Church (27-Concord) would no longer serve as a polling place.
- Hope Fellowship (proposed 51-Matt; retired 27-Concord) would be added as a polling place for a newly created precinct. Hope Fellowship is located at 6230 Matt Highway.
- Browns Bridge Church (proposed 50-Browns Bridge) would be added as a polling place for a newly created precinct. Browns Bridge Church is located at 3860 Browns Bridge Road.
- Cumming City Hall (07-Cumming) would be relocated to Cumming Recreation & Parks Department Event Center, located at 437 Pilgrim Mill Road.
Approximately 37,000 of Forsyth County’s more than 177,000 registered voters would be reassigned to a different Election Day precinct/polling place if the changes are approved.
“After each election cycle, the board and department staff analyze the current precinct lines and polling places to determine if any adjustments are needed prior to the next election cycle,” said Director of Voter Registrations & Elections Mandi Smith. “These changes will hopefully have the least impact on voters and, in some instances, even put some voters closer to their assigned Election Day polling place.”
