Forsyth County Seeking Poll Workers for Presidential Election
Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections is seeking civic-minded citizens from all backgrounds (age 16+) to serve as poll workers for the upcoming General Election and Special Elections in November. The department is hosting a number of Poll Worker Preview Sessions during which interested residents can learn more about this important and rewarding opportunity.
“Poll workers are the foundation of the election process,” said Voter Registrations & Elections Director Mandi Smith. “People may not realize that it takes 650-plus poll workers to make an election cycle happen. We simply couldn’t do it without them, and we look forward to meeting with residents who are interested in finding out more about potentially serving as a poll worker.”
Poll Worker Preview Sessions will be held on the following dates at the Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections Office (1201 Sawnee Dr.) for residents wishing to gain more information on becoming a poll worker:
- Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
- Monday, Sept. 9, from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
- Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
- Monday, Sept. 23, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
- Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Registration for the sessions is required as seating is limited. A signup link is available at www.forsythco.com/pollworkers.
“These sessions are a great opportunity for citizens to learn more about what it means to serve as a poll worker and see if it would be a good fit for them,” said Smith.
