Forsyth County Seeking Public Feedback On Proposed Precinct and Polling Place Changes, Advance Voting Hours and Days
The Forsyth County Board of Voter Registrations & Elections (BRE) is seeking resident feedback on proposed precinct and polling place changes, as well as the days and hours provided for Advance Voting during the 2022 election cycle. Both topics will be discussed by the BRE in their regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 9 a.m. and are set to be voted on during a special called meeting on Friday, Feb. 11 at noon. Both meetings will be held at the Voter Registrations & Elections Office at 1201 Sawnee Dr., and both are open to the public.
Proposed Precinct and Polling Place Changes:
The BRE proposes to change the boundaries of certain voting precincts resulting in the creation of additional precincts and additional Election Day polling places. If approved, these changes will result in 28 election day precincts and polling places in Forsyth County.
“After each election cycle, the board and department staff analyze the current precinct lines and polling places to determine if any adjustments are needed prior to the next election cycle,” said Director of Voter Registrations & Elections Mandi Smith. “Many discussions have taken place since the last election cycle on how to best accommodate our growing voter population throughout the County and one proposed solution is to open additional election day polling places.”

Advance Voting Hours, Days for 2022 Election Cycle:
The BRE will discuss a schedule for Advance Voting for the 2022 election cycle, including the Advance Voting locations, opening dates and voting hours for each location.
“The Board of Voter Registrations & Elections is tasked with setting the Advance Voting locations, hours and days for each election cycle,” said Smith. “They are interested in the ideas and thoughts from voters regarding Advance voting hours as well as Sunday voting day options for the upcoming election cycle.”
