Handbag auction taking place April 28

Forsyth County SeniorServices will host a handbag auction event on Saturday, April 28 from 1:30 to 3p.m. at Sexton Hall Enrichment Center located at 2115 Chloe Drive.

Gently used handbags,purses and wallets donated earlier this year will be available for biddingthrough a silent auction, with a few special items being auctioned off live.Proceeds from the auction will benefit older adults in need through ForsythCounty Senior Services.

“We are excited to raisemoney for older adults in need in our community and to do it in such a funway,” said Senior Services Director Ruthie Brew. “It’s a unique opportunity toget a new handbag and help others at the same time.”

Funds raised during theauction will help provide meals, transportation and life enrichment forresidents through Senior Services programs such as Meals on Wheels, theCongregate Meal & Activity Program at Charles Place and Sexton Hall, andRespite Care.
