Forsyth County to Introduce Two Electric Vehicles
In an effort to reduce emissions, fueland maintenance costs, Forsyth County is replacing two gas powered vehicleswithin the county fleet with zero-emission Nissan Leaf electric vehicles.
“These electric vehicles will provide avast cost savings to the County as the Nissan Leaf has an operating cost thatis 80% less than the average gas vehicle, said Fleet Services Director AveryGravitt. “This is equal to purchasing gas at 60 cents per gallon.”
Two ChargePoint dual-port level IIcharging stations will also be added at a later date to the County’sAdministration Building parking deck (215 Mason St.). Two of the ports will bereserved for County use, while the other two will be available for public use.
