Forsyth County to Kick Off Comprehensive Planning Update Process
An update to the Forsyth County Comprehensive Plan is underway, and you are invited to help create the vision for the county’s long-range future. This will be a full update focused on community elements such as housing, transportation, zoning and other land use matters as well as economic development. The update process will begin with two public hearings and a meeting.
The public hearings will introduce the purpose, schedule and overall update process that encompasses public feedback activities.

(as part of the Board of Commissioners’ regular meetings)
Thursday, March 17, at 5 p.m.
Thursday, April 7, at 5 p.m.

The committee meeting will be the first in a series that the public may attend as the process continues through the spring and summer of 2016.
Joint Meeting of the Vision and Steering Committees
Monday, April 11, from 6 to 8 p.m.
County Administration Building, 110 E. Main Street, Suite 220
(please note this meeting was previously scheduled for March 31)
The comprehensive plan is the umbrella policy document for the county’s future growth and development, which plays an important role in rezoning and development decisions. The plan also establishes community goals and priorities for the county’s future.
The update process provides an opportunity for the community as a whole to pause and have a meaningful dialogue about its vision for the county as it relates to housing, quality of life, employment opportunities and the policies and programs that will support plan implementation. Residents, businesses, property owners and community groups are highly encouraged to participate and lend a voice for Forsyth’s future.
