Judge T. Russell McClelland Elected President of the Council of State Court Judges
Chief Judge of the StateCourt of Forsyth County T. Russell McClelland has been elected to serve asPresident of the Council of State Court Judges of Georgia.
“When 129 of your peersask you to serve, it’s an honor. I deeply appreciate it and accept this honoron behalf of the people of Forsyth County,” said Judge McClelland. “Withouttheir faith and support, I wouldn’t have the opportunity to serve. I willcontinue to be an ambassador for my home county and to represent all StateCourts to the best of my ability.”
The Council of StateCourt Judges of Georgia is made up of more than 147 State Court judges andsenior judges throughout the state. State Courts are the highest level ofcounty- supported trial court in the Judicial Branch of Georgia.
As president, JudgeMcClelland will lead the council in finding ways to fulfill its mission tofurther the improvement of the State Court and the quality and expertise of itsjudges, to maintain the impartiality of the judiciary, ensure the fair,efficient and uniform administration of justice, and enhance public confidencein the judicial system.
Judge McClelland is alsoa member of the Judicial Council which is the governing body of the JudicialBranch of Georgia.
