McKee Joins Forsyth County as Assistant County Manager
On April 12, 2021, David McKee joined Forsyth County government as the assistant county manager. Inthis role, McKee oversees operations ofthe County’s Engineering, Recycling & Solid Waste, Fleet Services, PublicTransportation and Public Facilities departments. He also serves asthe executive manager for all transportation related activities and responsibilitiesand is the County’s key contact with the Georgia Department ofTransportation.
McKeebrings 15 years of county administration experience. He joined Dawson County in2006, working in environmental compliance, engineering, GIS and planning. Since2015 he served as Dawson County’s Public Works Director and SPLOSTAdministrator.
“Transportationsolutions continue to be a focus for our community,” said County Manager KevinTanner. “David has a proven track record of successful leadership positions incounty government, including a background in managing transportation projects.I am confident he is the right fit for Forsyth County.”
McKee holds a bachelor’s degreein Geology from Georgia Southern University. He has attained an AdvancedCertificate of Public Works Management from the University of Georgia CarlVinson Institute of Government and American Public Works Association.
