New Community Garden Now Open at Sexton Hall Community Center
Forsyth County Senior Services unveils new garden for community use

A dedication ceremony and tree planting was held at Sexton Hall, located at 2115 Chloe Road (off of Sharon Road), on June 13 to kick off a new community garden. The garden is a collaborative project with various partners – the County Extension Service and their Master Gardeners and Naturalists, the Boy Scouts of America, the Thanks Mom & Dad Foundation and several local businesses.

“The garden expands the space available for recreation and relaxation not only for center participants, but the community at large,” said Senior Services Director Ruthie Brew. “We are excited to provide Forsyth County residents of all ages with this garden.”

The garden, named the Live Well Garden, is an extension of the Senior Services theme of aging well by living a healthy and active life style. A garden club has been formed and persons of all ages are invited to participate in the growth and development of the garden and community center outdoor space.
