New Section of SR 400 Northbound Open
Progress on the widening of SR 400 in Forsyth County continues! A new, nearly 1-mile section of SR 400 northbound between SR 306 and SR 369 is now open to traffic. Because work on the bridge over Lake Lanier is still underway, motorists should consider the new left lane as a long turn lane for those accessing SR 369. Drivers continuing north on SR 400 should remain in one of the two right lanes to continue past SR 369.
The SR 400 widening project – adding a lane in each direction of SR 400 from McFarland Parkway to SR 369 – is being made possible through a partnership between Forsyth County and the Georgia Department of Transportation. GDOT has contributed funding to this work and is managing the project. The remainder of the project funding comes from the Forsyth County Transportation Bond approved by 63% of Forsyth County voters in 2014.
