Wondering what the Coal Mountain Town Center, a proposed development in north Forsyth County, could mean for the community and infrastructure in the area? 

The Coal Mountain Town Center is a proposed private multi-use development near the intersection of SR 9, SR 369 and Settingdown Rd. 

In this three-part edition of “On the Move,” hear from District 4 Commissioner Cindy Jones Mills, Planning Manager Heather Ryan and Capital Projects Director John Jefferson to learn about the vision the project, roadway improvements and infrastructure beautification in the surrounding area.

“It’s been a culmination of a lot of moving parts that’s taken six years to come to this point, [and] that we hope we’ll see one day coming to life,” said Mills. “I want people to know what Coal Mountain is and who the people of Coal Mountain are.”

“There is a unique vision for the Coal Mountain Town Center and surrounding area,” said Ryan. “The Coal Mountain Town Center Overlay adds a new layer of regulation … to ensure the development is adhering to certain architectural themes.”
