Forsyth County Parks & Recreation summer camps registration is now open. A wide variety of camp options will be offered this summer including recreation day camps, sports camps, adventure camps and specialty camps.
Summer Day Camps
These week-long day camps at Central Park, Fowler Park andOld Atlanta Park will provide a structured schedule of indoor and outdooractivities including games, art, fitness, special guests and other fun themerelated activities. The camps will be held at the county recreation centersweekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ages 6 through 10. Extended hours areavailable for an additional cost.
Camp themes include Summer Safari, Mystery, Wet and Wild,Build it Bash, Backyard Olympics, Wildlife Adventures and Everyday Heroes.
The cost of each camp is $110. Central Park is located at2300 Keith Bridge Road. Fowler Park is located at 4110 Carolene Way. OldAtlanta Park is located at 810 Nichols Road.
Safety Town
Children ages 4 to 5 are invited to learn important safetytips in a fun way this summer with the week-long Safety Town camps. Topicscovered during the five-day program include fire safety, water safety, car andbus safety, stranger danger, poison safety, gun safety and more. Children willalso enjoy learning traffic safety while driving kid carts through thechild-size “Safety Town Village.” This year’s Safety Town camps will be held atSharon Springs Park located at 1950 Sharon Road.
Safety Town camps will offered each week in June. Parentscan select either a 9 a.m. to noon session or a 1 to 4 p.m. session.
The cost is $85 per session.
Sawnee Mountain Preserve Camps
Youth ages 4 through 15 are invited to get adventurous thissummer at Sawnee Mountain Preserve where they can participate in camps thatfocus on outdoor adventure and environmental education. Some of the camp options this year are Little ExplorersCamp, Wet and Wild Adventure Camp, Adventure Camp, Mountain Bike Camp, Climbing Camp, WhitewaterKayak Camp as well as nature and science camps. Sign up early as these programsfill up fast! The camp hours, cost andages vary for the camps. Sawnee Mountain Preserve is located at 4075 Spot Road.
How to Register
Adults may choose to register their youth online by visitingwww.forsythco.com/parks or in person at any of the county’s three recreationcenters, located at Central Park, Fowler Park and Old Atlanta Park, Mondaythrough Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration will also be accepted viafax and mail. Please note that costs listed are for Forsyth Countyresidents. There is an additional 20 percent charge for non-residents.
