PODCAST: Forsyth County Receives Highest Bond Ratings from All Major Rating Agencies
S&P and Moody’s reaffirm County with highest rating following Fitch affirmation in 2024
Two of the nation’s three major credit agencies have reaffirmed Forsyth County’s perfect bond rating following review. Forsyth County is one of four counties in Georgia to hold a AAA bond rating from the three agencies.
Below is a podcast discussion between County Manager David McKee and Board of Commissioners Chairman/District 2 Commissioner Alfred John regarding what the rating means for the County’s future recording following the March 6, 2025 Board of Commissioners Meeting.
Moody’s reaffirmed their highest bond rating of Aaa and Standard & Poor (S&P) reaffirmed their highest bond rating of AAA in March 2025, this follows the reaffirmation of a AAA rating from Fitch, their highest rating, in 2024.
With the best possible bond ratings, Forsyth County has reaffirmed the lowest cost of borrowing from all three major U.S. bond rating services.
“Forsyth County’s perfect bond rating reflects our strong local economy, diverse tax base and responsible financial management,” said Forsyth County Manager David McKee. “Congratulations to our Chief Financial Officer Brian Clark, finance staff, and most importantly the citizens, on this outstanding achievement.”
The County’s excellent credit ratings make County-issued bonds more attractive to potential investors.
