Resident Input Sought on County’s Trees, Mass Grading and Stormwater Design Requirements
Meeting to discuss potential ordinance modifications to be held June 20
A public input meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 20 to kick-off the public engagement process for the review of the county’s tree ordinance, regulations pertaining to mass grading and an incentives program for innovative, low impact storm water design.
These items were identified as implementation measures in the latest update of the Forsyth County Comprehensive Plan and they are being bundled together in an effort to consider regulatory changes pertaining to the removal of trees and movement of earth during the development process.
“These tasks are related to policy measures linked to both land use and quality of life, two central elements of the comprehensive plan that require action items to be addressed in order to achieve the community’s vision and goals for the future,” said Deputy Director of Planning and Community Development Vanessa Bernstein-Goldman.
In order to protect, and provide access to, the county’s natural and cultural assets as noted in the plan, the county seeks further community input in order to recommend modifications and enhancements to current standards.
A public input meeting for citizen feedback will be held on Wednesday, June 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Forsyth County Administration Building located at 110 E. Main Street in Cumming (Suite 220). A formal presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m.
