Scott Adams Named Director of Water & Sewer
Scott Adams has been named Director of Water & Sewer, replacing former director Barry Lucas who was appointed to Assistant County Manager in March.
Adams brings 29 years of experience in consulting engineering practice, specifically focused on water and wastewater infrastructure, and has worked with the County in a consulting capacity since 1994.
“Scott Adams has extensive experience working with Forsyth County, and we are very excited that he is joining the Water & Sewer team,” said Assistant County Manager Barry Lucas. “His background and expertise with water infrastructure project management and his wealth of knowledge in water resources in this region and the state will serve him well as he leads the Department.”
Since 2010, Adams has worked as a consulting engineer for Brown and Caldwell where he led the infrastructure group in the Atlanta office, managing a team responsible for project delivery for utility clients across the southeast including Forsyth County. Previously, he worked as a vice president for Hayes, James and Associates, Inc. where he worked on numerous County projects. During his career, Adams has led the planning, design and construction of more than 30 Forsyth County Water & Sewer infrastructure projects.
Adams is an active member of the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) and has chaired the Small Systems Committee, Wastewater Treatment Committee and the Georgia Water Environment Federation. He is currently serving on the national level as a Water Environment Federation Delegate for Georgia.
He is a Professional Engineer licensed in multiple states, a certified practitioner with the Design Build Institute of America and holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from North Carolina State University.
In his spare time, Adams enjoys spending time on Lake Lanier with his family.
