September is National Preparedness Month
Residentsencouraged to plan and prepare for emergencies
September is NationalPreparedness Month and the Forsyth County Emergency Management Agency (EMA)urges residents to take time during throughout the month to plan and preparefor disasters and emergency situations.
“There is never a wrongtime to prepare for how you and your family will respond to an emergencysituation,” said Forsyth County EMA Director Chris Grimes. “With school back insession and families returning to their routines after the summer break,September is a great opportunity to put an emergency plan in place or reviewand update emergency procedures.”
The theme for NationalPreparedness Month 2019 is “Prepared, Not Scared.” Throughout the month,residents will learn about four important steps they can take to be preparedfor emergencies:
Save early for disastercosts
Make a plan to preparefor disasters
Teach youth to preparefor disasters
Get involved in yourcommunity’s preparedness
