Sharolyn Flemons Named Director of Senior Services
Sharolyn Flemons has been named Director of the Forsyth County Department of Senior Services, effective Nov. 18, 2024. Flemons brings 30 years of experience in healthcare leadership, focusing on senior services.
“Sharolyn brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our nationally recognized Senior Services, and I look forward to working with her on continuing to provide our residents with a breadth of offerings and services,” said Assistant County Manager Tony Tarnacki.
Flemons has spent her career developing and managing quality service programs and improving health outcomes for older adults.
For 15 years, Flemons served as Director of Nursing and Health Services among other roles at a senior living community in Roswell, Ga., where she managed operational strategies and led program innovations. She began her career at Crawford Long Hospital, which is now Emory University Hospital Midtown, in Atlanta, where she gained clinical expertise as a registered nurse.
Flemons holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with high distinction from Chamberlain University.
In 2022, Flemons was recognized with the Georgia Health Care Association Leadership of Excellence Award for transformative impact on senior care.
The Department of Senior Services is committed to providing engaging, impactful life enrichment programs and services for adults aged 60 and up in Forsyth County. The department offers trips and events, classes and activities, fitness opportunities, weekly delivery of meals to seniors in need, and more.
