Learn More About the NEW Exit 18 at SR 369/400, See Traffic Impacts
The new SR 369 (Browns Bridge Rd.) overpass bridge at SR 400 (exit 18) opened to east and westbound traffic at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4 (following a postponement due to inclement weather conditions on April 3). Along with the traffic shift, the signaled intersection at SR 369 and 400 was removed. This shift resulted in some traffic pattern changes as noted below.
Exit 18 NB Exit Ramp to SR 369 Now Open
SR 400 northbound (NB) motorists wishing to access SR 369 eastbound (EB) or westbound (WB) may now take the Exit 18 ramp loop (located on the northeast side of the overpass) to reach the new signal at the entrance of Browns Bridge Church. Motorists may take a right at the light to cross the new overpass and continue WB on 369 or take a left at the light to travel EB toward the Hammonds Crossing intersection at SR 306.
SR 400 NB On Ramp from SR 369 Now Open
SR 369 EB and WB motorists wishing to access SR 400 NB may now take the NB on ramp located at the Browns Bridge Church signalized intersection on the east side of the new 369 overpass. To access the on ramp, motorists traveling EB on 369 will cross over the new overpass bridge and take a left at the Browns Bridge Church light. Motorists traveling WB on 369 will take a right at the light to access the 400 NB on ramp.
SR 400 SB Detour to SR 369 (temporary)
For approximately 15 days beginning at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, motorists traveling southbound (SB) on SR 400 will not have access to exit onto SR 369 EB or WB following the removal of the signaled intersection. During this period, crews will finalize the construction of the new Exit 18 SB exit ramp on to SR 369. Alternate routes are available to access SR 369 during this time including:
- Take exit 17 (SR 306), turn right to travel westbound to SR 9, which connects to SR 369.
- Take exit 17 (SR 306), turn left to travel eastbound to SR 369.
- Take exit 17 (SR 306), turn left to travel eastbound, then take SR 400 NB ramp to SR 369.
SR 369 Detour to SR 400 SB (Temporary)
For approximately 15 days beginning at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, motorists traveling EB or WB on SR 369 will not have access to SR 400 SB as crews finalize the construction of the new SB on ramp to SR 400 at the new signalized intersection on the west side of the overpass (near the Chevron gas station). Alternate routes are available to access SR 400 SB from 369 during this time including:
- SR 369 WB to SR 9 and travel south. Then take SR 306 EB to exit 17, and take SR 400 SB ramp to SR 400 SB.
- SR 369 EB to SR 306 and travel south to exit 17 (SR 306). Then take the SR 400 SB ramp to SR 400 SB.
Martin Rd. Traffic Pattern Changes
Because of proximity to the new interchange, the signalized intersection at Martin Rd. is closed with a median dividing NB and SB traffic on SR 400 to prohibit any left turns.
Access to Martin Rd. EB via a right turn off SR 400 is permitted for NB traffic and a right turn onto Martin Rd. WB is permitted for SB traffic. Travelers can also still merge on to SR 400 from Martin Rd. with a right turn out (WB traffic on Martin Rd. can merge onto SR 400 NB and EB Martin Rd. traffic can merge onto SR 400 SB).
Left turns from SR 400 NB to County Way and from County Way to SR 400 NB are also prohibited with barriers blocking left turns. Right turns from 400 SB to County Way are permitted as are right turns from County Way onto 400 SB.
Additional information, videos and updates to the project will be made as available on the County’s social media channels and forsythco.com.
