SR 369/400 (Exit 18) Town Hall Set for Feb. 3
Forsyth County officials will host a public town hall and open house meeting to provide information and answer questions related to the SR 369 (Browns Bridge Road) overpass located at SR 400 (Exit 18). The event will begin with a project presentation at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 3, at Browns Bridge Church (3860 Browns Bridge Road).
The town hall event will feature:
- Panel discussion and project update from County officials and project partners
- Informal open house for discussions with project staff and elected officials
- Informational fact sheet and updated project website
Questions for officials to address during the panel discussion and Q&A portion of the meeting may be submitted by clicking here. Questions will also be collected at the event for response by officials.
“We are looking forward to this community town hall event that will provide a comprehensive, in-depth presentation and discussion,” said County Manager David McKee. “The widened Browns Bridge Road is in the final stages before fully opening four full lanes of traffic, and the project has already made a tremendous impact on commutes in north Forsyth. We encourage anyone with questions on the project to submit them for discussion.”
The Exit 18 overpass, which is part of the SR 369 widening project, most recently required a replacement for the Phase I westside support cap, located below the approach ramp on the northwestern portion of the bridge. The cap replacement was required after an inspection revealed cracking due to a bridge layout error by the project’s subcontractor at initial construction. The project’s initial subcontractor, Baldwin Paving Co., is managing the cap’s replacement and assumes financial responsibility for the required additional work. The modification and beam replacement will require an estimated nine months to complete, followed by an additional estimated three months of tie-in work before all four lanes on the bridge will open to traffic (two lanes currently are, and will remain, open throughout the repairs).
Additional details on the required replacement can be found in a recent On The Move video update.
“We thank the community for their patience as the full SR 369 widening project nears completion, and in the meantime, the overpass continues to remain open to traffic on Browns Bridge Road as modifications are made to the northwestern portion of the bridge.”
A project presentation, panel discussion and Q&A will begin at 6 p.m. in the Browns Bridge Church theater, followed by an informal open house with County officials and elected officials. During the event, a project webpage with information provided at the town hall will be made available at www.forsythco.com and the County’s social media channels.
