The Forsyth County Transportation Summit was held at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31, at Astro Celebrations (3835 Windermere Parkway). “North Georgia, and especially this 400 corridor, is one of the most desired places to both live and work, and people are going to keep coming. So, we have to build up our traffic transportation infrastructure for growth not just for now but as well into the future,” said Forsyth County Board of Commissioners Chairman Alfred John.
The Summit, jointly hosted by the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce and the Lanier Forsyth Rotary Club, featured multiple panel discussions and conversations with State and local leaders, including:
- Russell McMurry, Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Commissioner
- Sen. Greg Dolezal, Georgia State Senator, District 27
- Rep. Rick Jasperse, Georgia House of Representatives, District 11
- David McKee, Forsyth County Manager
- Alfred John, Forsyth County Chairman and District 2 Commissioner
- Other transportation and County leaders
The Summit also featured new editions of Forsyth County’s video series ‘On the Move’ to provide a behind-the-scenes, exclusive look at major transportation projects happening around the county. All past episodes are available on the County’s YouTube channel and on the County’s Facebook page. The new episodes also will be made available soon.
