Transportation Funding, Projects to be Highlighted at Annual Transportation Summit
The Forsyth County Transportation Summit will be held at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Astro Celebrations (3835 Windermere Parkway). The Summit gives residents, stakeholders and business leaders the opportunity to hear directly from leaders and decision makers about the future of transportation in Forsyth County.
The event will feature a presentation on current and future County transportation projects as well as a panel conversation with local, regional and State transportation leaders on funding source options for the future.

“Forsyth County is growing rapidly, and we must match that growth with improvements to our infrastructure that can withstand the needs of current and future residents,” said County Manager David McKee. “The Summit is a valuable opportunity for Forsyth County residents and businesses to hear directly from those who are making the decisions on how we improve mobility and plan ahead.”
The Summit, jointly hosted by the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of South Forsyth, will feature a panel discussion and conversations with State and local leaders on the future of transportation in Forsyth County, including:
- David McKee, Forsyth County Manager
- Sen. Greg Dolezal, Georgia State Senator, District 27
- Jason Dykes, Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) District Engineer
- James McCoy, President/CEO, Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce
The Summit will also feature a “coffee and conversations” event prior to the program at 10:30 a.m. followed by a buffet lunch. Limited non-lunch seating is available at no cost.
