Update to Bicycle Transportation and Pedestrian Walkways Plan Approved
An update to the Forsyth County Bicycle Transportation and Pedestrian Walkways 2025 Plan was approved by the Board of Commissioners December 3, 2015. The county’s Bicycle Transportation and Pedestrian Walkways 2025 Plan was adopted in 2002 to foster the development of an interconnected network of bicycle and pedestrian facilities that meets Forsyth County’s future transportation mobility, serves recreation needs, promotes alternative means of transportation, and enhances the county’s overall quality of life. The plan was last updated in 2008.
The purpose of the 2015 update was to track projects completed and planned for the county, determine the effectiveness in implementation of the plan, and identify new project locations. For this update process, two public information meetings were held, followed by a public hearing which was held December 3.
