I am so proud to share the news that last Thursday the Board of Commissioners adopted the Coal Mountain Overlay, which is designed to improve the aesthetic of the area and sets standards for architecture, landscaping, lighting and signage. The purpose of this process was to raise the bar for north Forsyth and the overlay’s three character areas – Coal Mountain, Hammond’s Crossing and Matt. I would like to thank the members of the Coal Mountain Overlay Committee who met numerous times over a six month period and who worked so diligently on this project: Charlie Heard, David McBrayer, Alan Neal, Candy Hammond, Paul Hamby, Brian Korosec/Robbie Caesar, Steve Holder, Christine Becnel, and Seth Thomas.
Their hard work, along with the guidance of county staff Tom Brown and Heather Ryan, helped create a lasting vision and a legacy for this area. I'm so proud to have been a part of this vision for District 4 and what it will mean for its future.
