When I receive a District 4 Zoning Newsletter from our stakeholder team
(huge shoutout to Stakeholder Melissa Loggins), I am amazed! The sheer amount
of work that they and my planning commissioner, Bettina Hammond, put into every
zoning is nothing short of amazing. They catch a lot of grief just because they
are on the front lines and have to be the first point of contact but they work
so hard for the citizens and they are volunteers. Bettina gets paid for two
meetings a month but that's nothing for the hours and hours she puts into this
job. People forget that sometimes, but I do not. Our district and our county can
only be great with people loving it enough to give back. At last week's BOC
meeting we recognized National Hunger Day and next Tuesday at noon at Cumming First United Methodist Church The Place volunteers
will be there as I read the proclamation. As I was reading about the Dominican nuns that started that organization over 40 years ago, I
could barely continue to read. I kept thinking little is much when God is in it
and how those nuns followed where He lead and He just kept blessing. We have
so many in need in this county that many don't recognize and we are blessed
with many with a servant heart. I am thankful for our volunteers - and for this
newsletter. I'm thankful we made it
through Irma and pray for the Eason/Martin family that lost their loved one.
Have a great weekend!
