I wanted to share some exciting news for our district. I've had so many ask me about when we are getting walking trails at our new parks and when I heard this news, I couldn't wait to share it with you! According to Natural Resource Manager Matthew Pate, Forsyth County Parks & Recreation is planning to add trails at two northern county parks, Matt Community Park and Lanierland Park. The plans for Matt Community Park are to offer approximately 3.5 miles of multi-use trails for walking, running and mountain biking. At Lanierland Park the plans are to offer approximately 1.5 to 2 miles of trails for walking and running. The trails at both parks will be natural surface and meander through wooded scenic areas. The Parks & Recreation Department hopes to have the trails open to the public early next year.
